Forbes Masters x Ruggable x AD Collection
Forbes Masters was selected by Architectural Digest as one of eight cutting-edge design studios to contribute to the exclusive Ruggable x AD Collection. This thoughtfully curated group features past honorees from AD’s New American Voices, a distinction that celebrates emerging talent redefining the American design landscape.
For this special collaboration, Tavia Forbes and Monet Masters created two exclusive rug designs that draw inspiration from the intersection of organic shapes and architectural geometry.
With this partnership, Forbes Masters continues to remix tradition and reimagine the concept of home—bringing global soul, texture, and intention to every floor it touches.
Forbes Masters X CB2 — Black in Design Collective
Forbes Masters was honored to be selected as part of CB2’s Black in Design Collective—a global showcase of Black creativity and craftsmanship curated in partnership with Evan Jerry of Studio ANANSI. Featuring works from designers across the African diaspora, the collection is a celebration of heritage, identity, and the power of storytelling through design.
In the first release, Tavia Forbes and Monet Masters introduced the Cornrows Rug—a hand-loomed ivory and black design symbolizing the shared bond between Black women and the pride woven into their hair and sisterhood. The second release brought the debut of their sculptural ottoman, inspired by traditional Mozambican containers and crafted from black-stained acacia wood and full-grain leather, with hidden storage beneath its upholstered top.
Both pieces reflect Forbes Masters’ commitment to meaningful, modern design—rooted in culture, memory, and the enduring beauty of Black expression.
Forbes Masters x Barbie® DreamHouse — Party Room for House Beautiful
Forbes Masters was one of three design studios tapped by House Beautiful to reimagine iconic spaces within Barbie’s newest DreamHouse®—a modern, three-story Malibu retreat. Their assignment: bring the ultimate Party Room to life with the bold, expressive style that defines their work.
Tavia Forbes and Monet Masters transformed the space into a glamorous, high-energy escape where Barbie could entertain in signature style. Neon lights and sparkling starburst chandeliers set the tone, while a sunken lounge-dance floor and a spiral staircase leading to a DJ booth hint at endless nights of celebration. Overlooking the pool, the room glows with a playful sophistication that’s pure Malibu magic.
As a nod to their own design legacy, Forbes Masters incorporated one of their Mitchell Black wallcoverings behind Barbie’s juice bar—adding a dash of retro flair to the tropical blends on tap.
With this collaboration, Forbes Masters proved that even in miniature, design can be immersive, aspirational, and full of joy.
